Backpacking Tips

Spring is finally here and its time to go out for some great backpacking adventures.  To help you get a head start on planning your warm weather backpacking trek here are some good tips.

1.  Plan for the weather.  Before heading out make sure to check the forecasts and temperatures for the area you will be hiking.  Pack keeping this in mind, but remember to keep it as light as you can.

2.  When pitching the tent, keep in mind that you should place the tent on a ground cloth or foam to keep it insulated from the ground.  This will make it more comfortable in your tent.

3.  Be sure to have a warm weather sleeping bag.  Since sleeping bags are designed for different temperatures having the right one will give you a better nights sleep.

4.  Make sure to bring extra socks.  No one wants to put wet socks on in the morning or hike with wet feet so having plenty of socks will help you avoid this.

5.  Only pack the essential items you will need and use for the duration of the trip.  Since you are focused on keeping everything as light as possible you will not need to overdue the packing.

By keeping these backpacking tips in mind on your next warm weather ultralight backpacking trip you will stay more comfortable and allow you to enjoy the adventure that awaits.
